LAMASUS at the 99th conference of The Agricultural Economics Society

LAMASUS attended the 99th Annual Conference of The Agricultural Economics Society that took place on April 14-15 in Bordeaux, France.

  • Berk Öktem from INRAE and Université Paris-Saclay chaired the session dedicated to Climate Impact, and contributed to the same session with a talk on “Drought and Agricultural Land Concentration in France”.
  • Michael Wögerer from International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) presented his work titled “New EU maps reveal how intensively different crops are farmed across Europe”. the new map shows what crops are grown where in the EU—and how intensively they’re farmed. The new dataset offers a clearer picture of European agriculture and its environmental impacts. Covering the entire EU at 1km2 resolution, it has been carefully aligned with official Eurostat figures to ensure accuracy. The result is a powerful tool for researchers, policymakers, and others working toward more sustainable land use and food systems.
  • Emilien Veron and Raja Chakir from INRAE presented a talk on “The Role of organic farming on conserving hedgerows in France”.
  • Tamás Krisztin presented a joint paper with Anna Renhart and Philipp Piribauer titled “Spatial Agricultural labour productivity and the CAP from International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA)”.
