New LAMASUS deliverable strengthens modelling of land-use and management practices
A new LAMASUS deliverable presents important advances in how land use and land management are represented in four macro-level models: GLOBIOM, CAPRI, IMAGE and MAGNET.
Developed under Work Package 7 (WP7), the work integrates historical land-use and management data from the LUM geodatabase and incorporates interventions from the CAP Strategic Plans. The models have also been extended to better represent management practices such as organic farming, grassland management, climate-smart forestry and peatland rewetting, alongside new parameters reflecting observed land-use change.
These developments strengthen the models’ ability to assess policies targeting not only how land is used, but also how it is managed. The enhanced models will provide the basis for the LAMASUS scenario analysis in WP8.
